Post Graduate Study Scheme
The Post Graduate Study Scheme provides Queensland Health palliative care clinicians (allied health, nursing and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Profession workforces) with access to complete a post graduate qualification to support enhanced capability of the specialist palliative care workforce.
Program information
Providing access to postgraduate education aims to support retention and growth of the specialist palliative care workforce whilst strengthening palliative and end-of-life care for Queensland individuals, families, and carers.
The Post Graduate Study Scheme will provide financial support to cover enrolment fees and student services and amenities fees (where applicable). The financial support will provide:

funding for up to $10,000 for one eligible Masters qualifications

funding for up to $5,000 for one eligible Diploma, Certificate or accreditation

Applications for financial support for post graduate study have now closed. Current students will be supported as per their letters of offer, until June 2028.

Educational Conferences
The Palliative Care Workforce Capability Suite focuses on enhancing access to education and training development for the palliative careallied health, nursing and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Profession workforces in Queensland Health.
Providing access to educational conferences aims to support retention and growth of the specialist palliative care workforce whilst strengthening palliative and end-of-life care for Queensland individuals, families, and carers.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for funding to attend one educational conference (per financial year), applicants must:

Be a Queensland Health employee, employed in a permanent or temporary capacity in a palliative care setting in a Queensland Health hospital or health facility.

Be a palliative care health professional with at least two years cumulative experience working in an allied health, nursing and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Profession position.
Priority will be given to:

Eligible Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

Eligible applicants employed in rural, remote or regional Queensland.

Eligible applicants providing palliative care and end-of-life care in a paediatric palliative care setting.
