Financial delegations
A financial delegation is attached to a position, not a person. It involves accountabilities, decision-making and risk management. All expenditure from Queensland Health funds require authorised approvals made by the Director-General to authorised officers. Delegations are assigned only to officers with the requisite qualifications, experience or standing appropriate to exercise the responsibility.
The Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM) for your HHS provides information relating to all aspects of financial management, including budget preparation, purchasing, employee entitlements, travel expenses, financial delegation, receipt of gifts, and cost centre management.
Delegation Bands
A delegation band is a level of spending authority given to a position in Queensland Health. This will determine what you can approve and the amount.
Remember - If you change positions your band may change.
